Passion flowers are hard to miss. The flowers are three inches wide, with pale purple, fringed petals and showy yellow stamens. They grow on a long vine that climbs or runs along the ground. Passion flower fruits are large, edible, yellow-orange berries that are sometimes called Maypops. The plant is named because the flowers are said to represent the crucifixion, sometimes know as the Passion.
