Lane Snapper are one of the smallest types of snapper that are caught in Florida waters. They are usually caught around one pound but can weigh up to five pounds. These fish are also called candy striper or rainbow snapper because of the bright orange and yellow horizontal stripes. Lane snapper can be distinguished by the large black spot in the middle of their back.

Lane Snapper are some of the easiest fish to catch and can be caught with cut bait fished close to the bottom. While they are small, they are very tasty.
