Crevalle Jacks are members of the fast moving Jack family and are great fun on a fishing line. They can be found in many different types of Florida waters and will sometimes even venture into freshwater. Their large rounded heads are packed with shap teeth to capture the smaller fish that they eat.

Crevalle Jacks can be identified most easily by their yellow fins and the black spot on their gill plate. While they are commonly caught between two and five pounds, they can reach upwards of 20 pounds in open water and up to 50 pounds offshore. While some anglers find the flesh of the fish too dark, many enjoy it smoked.
